On September 17, Dove House in Marion County hosted its annual Celebration Luncheon & Dessert Dash, honoring Strong Women, Strong Futures, and Strong Communities.
The event was a success, drawing nearly 300 attendees. The afternoon featured client stories and testimonials; remarks from Lena Hackett, one of Dove House’s founding board members; and the Dessert Dash, which raised more than $50,000 to support women with substance use disorder.
This year’s event came at the end of a season of growth for Dove House. Over the last three months, we opened a new 15-bed home in Bartholomew Count (Columbus, IN), and the expansion and renovation of our Marion County location, increasing capacity in Indianapolis from 40 to 55 beds. Together, these expansions have increased Dove House’s ability to impact more women, futures, and communities than ever before.
In total, the luncheon raised just over $150,000. This critical funding will provide women with access to services such as trauma-informed therapy, peer support, safe housing, work-readiness training, and many other essential resources.
