Making A Difference At Dove House: Meet Our New Development Assistant Amanda Cross

Amanda Cross’s professional journey recently took a meaningful turn when she joined Dove Recovery House for Women as the Development Assistant in December of 2023.

“I have had a lot of people around me struggle with addiction, but the women in my life especially,” she shared.

For Amanda, the development role at Dove House couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.

“I really want to work in development and grow my skills and knowledge but also help as much as I can while doing my job,” she said.

Her goal is to ensure that everything runs smoothly so the women at Dove House are provided for and equipped for success in their lives during at after their time at Dove House.

Her dedication extends beyond her official duties, as she seeks to contribute to the well-being and success of the women seeking treatment at Dove House. To Amanda, Dove House is more than just a nonprofit organization—it’s a powerful force for positive change.

“Dove House is special to me because I see the impact it makes on the lives of the ladies involved in the program,” she shared.

Amanda envisions a ripple effect of change, where the impact on individuals extends to their families and communities, ultimately breaking cycles of trauma. Her belief in the transformative power of Dove House fuels her commitment to the cause.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Amanda enjoys being outside, especially during the summer. Whether exploring nature, biking, rollerblading, hiking, kayaking, swimming, or boating, she values these activities as special moments to bond with her three children. Adding a touch of personality, Amanda’s favorite color is pink—aligning perfectly with the spirit of Dove House.
