Meet Samantha Middleton! She is one of our amazing therapists at Dove House in Marion County. She previously worked as a school social worker and has her masters in social work and is a licensed social worker. In her role at Dove House, Samantha works with clients both individually and in groups.
“My most important job here at Dove is to support and embolden the women to become the best version of themselves,” she shared.
Samantha was really drawn to the mission and values at Dove House, specifically the empowerment of women and desire to truly meet and support women where they are.
“I have always known that I eventually wanted to end up practicing therapy, and having such a wonderful facility full of strong women empowering women felt like the perfect fit,” Samantha added.
During her time working at Dove House, Samantha has witnessed how women support and care for one another. She has also been inspired by the staff.
“The staff here sincerely care about each of the women who walk through these doors, both while they’re here and long after they leave,” she said. “Having such a compassionate, kind team makes all of the difference.”
Working with amazing women, like our staff and Doves, makes her job so fulfilling. As Samantha reflected on the impact she wants to make here, she shared, “I hope that the clients I work with feel safer, more loved and with more tools in their toolbox upon moving forward.”
In her free time, Samantha enjoys reading, going on trips (usually to Disney World) and spending time with her friends, family and two cats! A fun fact about Samantha is that she worked for Disney World in the Disney College Program right after she finished undergrad.
She left us with her favorite quote which is, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.” – Dumbledore (Harry Potter)
We are grateful to have Samantha at Dove House, helping women find the light in darkness.
