Meet Dana Wood, Dove House’s clinical manager at our soon-to-be second home in Dubois County. She told us, “Serving those in recovery–especially women–is my passion. Being able to provide treatment where women can remain in the community and retain positive connections is beyond words.”
Before coming to Dove House, Dana was the continuous quality improvement specialist for the Dubois County Justice System. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from Indiana University, with a concentration in mental health and addictions. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with extensive training in motivational interviewing.
Dana wanted to work at Dove House as soon as she visited the Indianapolis location.
“The atmosphere was unlike any I had been in before,” Dana exclaimed. “It was as if you could tangibly feel the hope and encouragement in the air, it was that palpable.”
Aside from the atmosphere, she also felt connected with Dove House’s holistic approach to serving women in a way that not only assists in their recovery but in all other areas of their lives.
As the Dubois County clinical manager, Dana will oversee everything related to treatment at the new location. She will also help establish and foster an environment that resembles the Indy location.
“I hope that I’m providing a safe space for women to come when they are at their most vulnerable and provide the support to help them thrive in their lives,” Dana shared.
Dana lives in Petersburg with her husband and three dogs. In her free time, she loves to hike, camp, travel, kayak and read. We are so glad to have Dana on our team as we open the Dubois County location.
